ORIGAMI

The Origamanza varia blog was born in 2011 when Matteo, after having discovered origami and the vast world of online tutorials, decided to contribute in his own way to the spread of the Art of Paper Folding.

Since the very beginning his main aim has been to feed and train people’s creative nature and "manual" spirit through the Origami art, thus giving back to the hands, now too often considered mere connections between us and technology, their original value and role as creative instruments and investigators of the world.

This intent led, over the years, to a series of one-shot laboratories and periodical workshops hosted in several roman social settings such as community centres, schools and cultural clubs. The blog then took on the task of keeping people informed about future lessons, but also about any of the Origamaro’s artistic activities.

In fact, during the blog’s active period, Matteo also used origami to create art installations and art pieces for various exhibitions (both group and solo), taking part in experimental and interactive events and finding time and ideas to make some artistic interventions around the city. Origami has been used also to create lamps and home decor on commission.
