ANIMATRONICS
Most of Matteo's animatronic works has been made for Makinarium, as a trainee, technician and then coordinator and puppeteer. Outside the workshop, there has been some interesting personal projects worth to mention.
The most important project for now has been the big blue furry monster for Mollami (2019), an italian road movie. The production asked for a creature that could act and deliver lines needing no extra time than an actor, and Makinarium made it happened with a great team effort.
Two animatronic heads, nineteen servomotors each, fully controlled by an app for recording and mixing input signals coming from two different bluetooth controllers. On set it was possible to record expressions and lips movements for each line in advance, being still able to interact live with the actors.
